Development of Air Quality Action Plans for 15 Metropolitan, Municipal Assemblies (MMAs) in the Greater Accra Region.

PSS Urbania is developing Air Quality Action Plans for 15 MMDAs to combat the issues of air quality in Ghana. Some key activities include:

  1. Identification of stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, and private sector organisations
  2. Conducting air quality assessment in the selected MMDA jurisdictions to identify the sources of air pollution.
  3. Setting specific MMDA air quality goals that are aligned with the WHO air quality guidelines and the Ghana air quality targets set by EPA in the revised AQMP.
  4. Identifying potential control measures that could be implemented to improve air quality
  5. Assessing the (technical, economic, and social) feasibility of control measures through modelling to ensure that it can be implemented effectively
  6. Developing an action plan; implementing and monitoring the action plan; reviewing, updating and mainstreaming of the action plan.
