PSS Urbania is developing Air Quality Action Plans for 15 MMDAs to combat the issues of air quality in Ghana. Some key activities include:
- Identification of stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, and private sector organisations
- Conducting air quality assessment in the selected MMDA jurisdictions to identify the sources of air pollution.
- Setting specific MMDA air quality goals that are aligned with the WHO air quality guidelines and the Ghana air quality targets set by EPA in the revised AQMP.
- Identifying potential control measures that could be implemented to improve air quality
- Assessing the (technical, economic, and social) feasibility of control measures through modelling to ensure that it can be implemented effectively
- Developing an action plan; implementing and monitoring the action plan; reviewing, updating, and mainstreaming the action plan.
