Proposed to deliver a fully functional, modernised international airport capable of handling a passenger throughput of 600,000 per annum expandable to 2,000,000 passenger throughput. Other features include:
Runway: 3,500 meters; Airfield Category: 4E; Apron: 2E2C. Category I Navigational Aids; General layout engineering: Internal road and 1.2km link road, landscaping; front gate etc.; Link road: 9.2km which links from the terminal to the national highway, of which 1.2km is newly built as mentioned above, remaining 8km existing road will be simply treated; One Taxi way.
Conducted an analysis of the relevant legislative, policy and institutional framework applicable to the project. Collated, reviewed and incorporated inputs (assessments, mitigations, monitoring and management measures) from all 7 Lead Specialists on the ESHIA team for the preparation of ESHIA and RAP Reports. Coordinated the Traffic Impact Assessment on the Songo-Rotifunk link road and the Freetown-Masiaka Highway; Provided mitigation measures. Assessed and mitigated potential public safety risks of haulage activities on the 9.2km link road in project communities such as Songo, Waterloo and Hastings. Coordinated all stakeholder consultations with 37 communities in the Koya Chiefdom of the Port Loko District.
